Abuja Trade Fair: ACCI president expresses delight on successes recorded

Dr Emeka Obegolu, the President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has expressed delight at the successes recorded at the just concluded Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).

Obegolu, at the closing ceremony of the fair on Wednesday in Abuja, reiterated the event’s achievements and future potential.

He expressed gratitude to participants, sponsors, and exhibitors who contributed to the fair’s success.

“It is with great pride that I stand before you today as we draw the curtain on the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).

“On behalf of the Executive Council and members of the ACCI, I wish to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who participated and made this year’s edition a resounding success.

“Over the past 12 days, we have seen the best of what Nigeria and the world have to offer in terms of business innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity.

“The 19th edition of the AITF has continued to live up to its reputation as a multi-sectoral event, drawing participants from all corners of the globe,” he said.

According to Obegolu, over 500 exhibitors showcasing more than 10,000 products, solutions, and services attended the fair.

He said this year’s theme, “Mobility: Options for Transportation, Trade Financing, and Taxation”, served as a focal point for discussions aimed at addressing current challenges in the global economy.

Obegolu stated the fair’s role as a platform for exploring partnerships and market trends, emphasising its importance in enhancing Nigeria’s economic landscape.

While reiterating highlights from the fair, Obegolu announced the upcoming Farm, Food, and Technologies (FARMFATECH) Expo, scheduled for Nov. 5 – Nov. 7.

He said the Expo would be co-hosted by ACCI, Afrexim Bank, and Autodex with the aim of promoting Nigeria’s agricultural sector by showcasing innovative solutions and financing models.

A representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs Miriam Palmero, thanked the ACCI for inviting the country to the fair.

Palmero, while stating the relationship between the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and the ACCI, expressed the continued support of the Republic of Cuba to ACCI’s mandate.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chamber, at the end of the ceremony, gave awards to outstanding participants at the fair, while urging others to do better subsequently.

The closing ceremony was attended by stakeholders, partners, exhibitors, and other well-meaning Nigerians.
