SGF lauds retired NYSC Director Hajiya Walida Isa’s exceptional leadership

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, has hailed Hajiya Walida Isa for her remarkable service and exceptional leadership as the Director, Corps Mobilisation, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

At her retirement dinner organised by the Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) on Friday in Abuja, Akume praised Hajiya Isa’s, commitment, and contributions to youth development.

Akume, who was represented by the Dr Emanso Umobong, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet affairs, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,(OSGF) described the retired NYSC Director as a shinning example of selfless service.

He added that her legacy would inspire generations to come as her unwavering passion for National development was commendable.

According to him, as we gather to celebrate your remarkable journey at this special dinner, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your retirement as the NYSC Director of Corps Mobilisation Department.

“Your exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment has made a profound impact on countless lives.

“This in which was also demonstrated during your outing service and birthday held on Thursday Sept. 19, 2024 where Staff were so emotional of your exit, this is indeed rare.

“Your dedication to fostering an inclusive environment has inspired both corp members and staff alike, and your initiatives will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy within the NYSC.

“We are grateful for your contributions and the positive change you have championed throughout your tenure.

“You have not only exhibited prompt service deliver during service, you were also detribalised by working with close staff from all religious background and other states despite being a dedicated Muslim from Nafada LGA of Gombe State,”

The SGF, who commended CYMS for honouring the retired NYSC Director urged public servants to emulate her values while assuring that her experience and passion would remain valuable assets to the Nation.

Akume noted that the celebration reflected the deep respect, love and admiration for her, especially the young people she had served throughout her years of service as a public servant.

“As you embark on this new chapter of your life, Hajiya Walida, as your role model and Father of the Day of this great occasion, I want to assure you that your skills and passion will continue to shine in your future endeavours.

“As you retire from the Public Service, your wealth of experience, age, and service will still be needed in Public Service.

“May this next phase bring you joy, fulfillment, and exciting opportunities to enable you to contribute more towards your State and nation- building.

“Thank you for being an exemplary leader, a shining example, a role model to every girl child and a source of inspiration to us all.

In his goodwill message, Mr Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development of Nigeria, congratulated the retired NYSC Director on her remarkable 35 years of meritorious service to the nation.

Olawande said that Hajiya Isa’s committment to excellence, vision and unwavering support have contributed significantly in shaping the NYSC into what it was today.

“I, personally, have encountered her near obsessive commitment to duties, going far above what is required of her in order to guarantee result and impact.

“No doubt , her tireless efforts have left an indelible mark, and her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate not only the staff of NYSC but anyone who is familiar with her work culture and ethics, “he said.

Speaking , the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Malam Shehu Mohammed said that Hajiya Isa’s exemplary service to Nigeria had been a source of pride and inspiration.

Mohammed, who was represented by Corps Commander, Mr Anthony Uchechere, said that the retired NYSC Director consistently exemplified dedication, integrity and professionalism.

” Her efforts have not only strengthened the NYSC but have also had lasting impact on the countless young Nigerians whose lives she touched.

“Her role in fostering unity across the country and contributing to national development cannot be overstated, “he said.

Earlier, the CYMS Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka congratulated Hajiya Isa saying that the gathering was to recognise the essence of Public service in the country.

Nwaka urged youths to emulate the good life of the retired NYSC Director saying that her proven track record of hard work, integrity and commitment to excellence would continue to inspire future generations.

“We are proud of you and proud to identify with you as our mother, it is our prayer that you will continue to lend your expertise and experience to the service of our country.

Responding, the retired NYSC Director expressed deep gratitude to his colleagues, friends, and family, reflecting on her journey and the strides made in promoting youth development.

Hajiya Isa, however, urged those still in service to remain loyal and committed to the country, NYSC and their superiors, adding that it would foster strong bonds and a reputation for reliability and dedication.

Present at the event were security agencies, government officials, other relevant stakeholders, serving youths corps Members among others.
