NIS increases passport fees for quality service delivery, eliminate corruption

The Federal Government has approved an upward review of Nigerian passport fees of 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity to N50,000, up from N35,000, while the 64-page booklet with a 10-year validity will cost N100,000, up from N70,000.

According to a statement issued by the PRO of the Nigeria Immigration Service, DCI Keneth Udo, it stated that this measure is to maintain the quality and integrity of the document.

While he noted that the Service regrets any inconvenience this increase may cause, he assures Nigerians of its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery.

The statement further revealed that the fees remain unchanged in the Diaspora, with the new fees taking effect from September 1, 2024.

Earlier, the Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap has pledged to lead the fight against corruption and restore the service’s dignity, amid recent allegations of misconduct by some officers.

She said that steps were eliminating corruption, improving service delivery, and restoring NIS dignity.
