Business Career
Chief Emuoboh’s business career is a shining example of how determination and resilience can lead to success. Despite coming from a privileged background, he chose to start his career with modest jobs, gaining invaluable experience along the way. In 2002, he worked at a car wash, and by 2004, he was a sales clerk at KFC, balancing his job with his studies. While attending Purdue University, he supported himself by working as a lab attendant. In 2007, Chief Emuoboh established Fours USA, a company specializing in the buying, shipping, and clearing of vehicles worldwide. This venture marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, which would soon expand into various sectors. Upon his return to Nigeria in 2009, he became the Managing Director of GKO Properties Group, where he oversaw the management of hotels, including the renowned Signatious Hotel in Warri, Delta State. Not one to rest on his laurels, Chief Emuoboh later founded Blue Delta Integrated Services Limited,
an advertising company focused on digital screens and signage. This enterprise grew into a group of companies, including Exquisite Cuts, a chain of men’s grooming outfits; Blue Delta Schools Ltd, a global-standard school in Warri; Symptoms Pharmaceutical LTD, a chain of pharmacies; and Blue Delta Petroleum Resources LTD, an oil and gas company serving Nigeria’s bustling energy sector. Today, Chief Emuoboh serves as the Chairman of GKO Group of Companies, a global conglomerate that spans various sectors, including hospitality, investment, construction, security, power, and oil and gas.
Political Career
Chief Emuoboh’s return to Nigeria also marked the beginning of his political journey. Driven by a desire to bring progressive ideas from the developed world to his home country, he joined the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). As a delegate from Jeremi Ward 2, Ughelli South LGA, he played a significant role in youth mobilization during the 2015 General Election in Delta State.
Although his bid for a Delta State House of Assembly position in 2018 was unsuccessful, Chief Emuoboh went on to hold several important positions within the government. He served as the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on DESOPADEC (Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission) from October 2015 to August 2018 and as Special Adviser to the Governor on DESOPADEC from October 2018 to May 2019. He also served two terms as Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Development and was the Secretary of the College of Special Advisers from July 2021 until the end of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in May 2023.
Community Leadership
Chief Emuoboh is not only a successful businessman and politician but also a respected community leader. In January 2015, he was conferred with the traditional title of Ame of Ughelli Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oharisi, the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom. This honor was a recognition of his contributions to community development and his leadership among the youth.
Awards and Recognition
Over the years, Chief Emuoboh’s contributions to society have not gone unnoticed. In 2019, he was awarded the Distinguished Youth Personality of the Year Award by the Oil City Advancement Group. That same year, he was also named the Most Distinguished Youngest Office Holder of the Year by the Udu Icon/Role Model Awards.
Personal Life
Beyond his professional achievements, Chief Emuoboh Kenneth Gbagi is a devoted Christian and father. He is dedicated to his family and community, continuously striving to uplift those around him. His life is a powerful example of how one can successfully balance business, politics, and community service while maintaining strong personal values. Chief Emuoboh’s journey is far from over.
